Determining the perfect CBD dosage, unfortunately, doesn't involve a one-size-fits-all approach. It's more art than science and takes some time to find what will works best for you. Things such as your genetics, tolerance, body weight and overall health will all affect what creates your sweet spot, and even then, your changing environment will play a role in the need to sometimes alter your dosage or form. Sound overwhelming? Not at all.
So where should you begin? First, you should understand how CBD is measured within your tincture dropper. The simple calculation for determining dosage in a dropper is:
[Total CBD in bottle] ÷ [Amount of ml in bottle] = Total mg of CBD in the dropper
Each of our bottles are 30ml in size, and has varying amounts of hemp extract. So, for BROWN GIRL jane, the dropper amounts are:
16.67mg for the 500mg INTIMATES bottle 25 mg for the 750mg BALANCE bottle 50mg for the 1,500mg SLEEP bottle
Now that the dropper amount is covered, how many should you take? If you are new to CBD and your doctor doesn’t provide a recommendation, it’s best to start with a smaller dosage and gradually increase it. Start out with a low milligram amount, one dropper-full a day, and take note of how you feel. A safe place to begin determining your proper CBD dosage is to take 1–6MG of CBD for every 10 pounds of body weight.
If you don't feel noticeable effects, up the dosage to two- a day, and so on. Continue this until you feel that it’s effectively treating your symptoms. CBD will reach it's peak around 3-4 hours, so always wait before taking more so you aren't experiencing cumulative effects instead of the intended single dose.
Lastly, it takes a bit of effort, but try to take notes (even if it's in your phone or jotting a quick sentence in your journal) on how you feel on a daily basis. This will help SO much to get the dosing right, and will help you monitor your individual reaction along your CBD journey!
